Key dates on the BioTruck Expedition:

14th November: Diesel-Day. Preston
In an open day for the press, Ecotec will be making the Chocolate Diesel that will be used on the expedition to Timbuktu . Attendees will learn how biodiesel is made. Expedition Leader Andy Pag, and Ecotec's Marketing Director Andy Hodgeson will be on hand to answer questions.

23rd November: Departure. Poole Ferry Port
The team set off for their epic journey and the BioTruck leaves UK shores for the last time destined to spend the rest of it's life in Africa .

30th November: Arrival in Africa. Ceuta.
The expedition crosses the straights of Gibraltar to Morocco, arriving on African soil.

6th December (estimated): Crossing the Mauritanian Minefield.
Probably the riskiest part of the journey, the team will drive the BioTruck across the mined no-mans-land between Morocco and Mauritania . The route is clearly marked and the danger is minimal, however this marks the start of the Sahara crossing in earnest.

13th December (estimated): Arrival in Bamako , the capital of Mali
Handing over the Ecotec Biodiesel Production unit to MFC and deliver a couple of days training.

17th December (estimated) Arrive in Timbuktu
The end of the expedition.

After the 30th of November, all dates are approximate.
